Windaba to focus on unleashing renewables for economic growth

As the flagship event of the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA), Windaba conference and exhibition continues to provide strategic alignment for the Wind Energy market domestically and on the African continent.

In his State of the Nation address on 20 June 2019, the President of the Republic of South African, His Excellency, Cyril Ramaphosa outlined:

“We have the opportunity to be at the forefront of green growth, of low-carbon industrialisation, of pioneering new technologies and of taking quantum leaps towards the economy of the future.

We must increase the contribution of renewable and clean energy to our national energy mix and explore the potential of the hydrogen economy.”

These are not just national sentiments but provide a springboard for vibrant discussions at this year’s conference in Cape Town. Taking place on 8& 9 October, the theme for the 9th Annual Windaba conference and Exhibition is ‘Unleashing renewable power for African economic development’. The Windaba aims to unpack the theme from all vantage points, with particular emphasis on how South Africa can provide market leadership for the continent.
