The National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA) is responsible for operating
and developing South Africa’s national transmission network. Its mandate includes
transmission services, system operations and supporting fair and reliable access to the
grid as the electricity market evolves.

The Independent Power Producers Office (IPPO) supports the procurement of new
electricity generation capacity from Independent Power Producers in South Africa. Its
work includes energy procurement, project monitoring, contract management and
advisory support across the country’s independent power producer programmes.
