WindAc Africa 2025

WindAc Africa 2025 delivered a powerful convergence of research, industry insight, and youth-driven innovation, reaffirming its role as South Africa’s leading academic platform within the wind-energy ecosystem. The symposium brought together researchers, emerging scholars, TVET institutions, and sector professionals to interrogate solutions that can accelerate the country’s renewable-energy transition.

Across presentations and dialogue sessions, participants explored the research themes shaping the sector: grid integration, policy development, technology innovation, and community participation. WindAc showcased how academic inquiry and industry application work hand-in-hand to strengthen South Africa’s energy future.

A central focus of this year’s gathering was youth empowerment and skills development. By linking universities, TVET colleges, and industry partners, WindAc is cultivating a future-ready talent pipeline, equipping young engineers, technicians, and researchers with practical pathways into the clean-energy economy. This is where new ideas ignite action, and the next generation of energy leaders is inspired, empowered, and prepared to lead.

WindAc Africa 2025 once again demonstrated that research is not an isolated exercise,  it is a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and long-term sector growth.

A heartfelt thank you to all speakers, research presenters, partners, and sponsors for contributing to the rich exchange of knowledge that defines the WindAc platform.
