Award description
This award honours an IPP that proves sustainability is more than a slogan, it’s how they operate. These leaders take pride in permits to actively protect the natural environment, drive conservation, and embed sustainable practices, showing that wind energy can leave nothing but a clean breeze behind.
Award criteria
- Entrants should submit a project description that outlines the complexity of the project in terms of:
- Size of project,
- topographical complexity,
- permitting challenges,
- technological innovation,
- level and amount of endangered vegetation.
- Detail the environmental benefits: Describe the impact on natural resource management (including MW/hectare) and positive effect/impact on the balance of the environment (e.g., hectares of land rehabilitated, conservation efforts of flora and fauna species, water sources conserved or enhanced, etc.)
- Outline the methodology, verification and reporting: Describe the rationale for the methodology, how the initiative has been validated and reported on in a manner over and above the requirements of the governed processes. Describe any safety and structural or technical integrity considerations and the rationale for actions taken to address these
- Contribution to the field: Describe how your project showcases emerging or developing technologies or ideas as they are applied to enhancing environmental or sustainability outcomes – including but not limited to the mitigation of wildlife fatality on wind farms.
