Darryn is currently a Trade Policy Officer for the European Union Delegation in South Africa, where he responsible for policy matters related to Investment, Energy and Digitalisation. His works contributes to the strategic partnership action plan between the EU and South Africa and the implementation of the EU-SADC Economic Partnership Agreement. Prior to this he spent more than 4 years with the Western Cape Government. His career began in the private sector, dealing with trade, renewable energy and investment policy.
Darryn’s professional interests include Investor-State Dispute Settlement, international trade and investment development for increased free and fair trade, as well as advocating for the uptake of
alternative energy technologies for increased decarbonisation of economies and job creation.
He holds degrees in law and corporate affairs.
