With a 19 year track record, African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM) is the most experienced private equity investment manager focused exclusively on African infrastructure on the continent. Helen joined AIIM in 2013 and is responsible for analysing and assessing investment opportunities, as well as the execution, performance monitoring and realization of investments. Helen is a director of several renewable energy companies in the AIIM portfolio. Helen has extensive experience in the energy industry and has developed and arranged the debt and equity financing for a number of energy projects, including the Umoya Energy Wind Farm in South Africa and the Kipeto Wind Farm in Kenya. Prior to joining AIIM, Helen led the project investment team which successfully bid the Umoya Energy Wind Farm into round one of South Africa’s REIPPP Programme. Helen’s previous experience involved managing investments in renewable energy projects in the UK. Helen worked for Climate Change Capital (CCC), a boutique fund manager and advisory firm in London focused on investment opportunities in the low carbon economy. Prior to CCC, Helen worked with the European electricity trading desk at Barclays Capital.
