Kevin Minkoff has been involved in the renewables sector in sub-Saharan Africa since 2009 when he joined local IPP start-up company InnoWind (later acquired by EDF Renewables) as a project developer. In 2014 he oversaw the construction of EDF Renewables’ first wind farm (~US$ 100m) on the African continent. He then moved on to set up the company’s Asset Management department, in charge of an operational portfolio of 100 MW+. Now based in Cape Town, he heads the business development unit for EDF Renewables in Sub-Saharan Africa, working specifically on renewable energy solutions for corporate off-takers. Kevin holds a MSc in physics & engineering from the French National Institute of Applied Sciences. He currently chairs SAWEA’s technical working group.
