Drawing on his extensive experience in the renewable energy and finance industries, Sohaib leads Wood Mackenzie’s wind power research in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is focused on market developments, future scenarios, supply chain dynamics and competitive strategies across the wind power value chain. Sohaib joined Wood Mackenzie in 2017 from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) where he was the focal person for South Asia and contributed to technical assistance projects in Africa. He previously worked at the World Wind Energy Association and Askari Bank Limited as an analyst and a relationship manager, respectively. Sohaib holds a Master’s degree in public policy from the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, University of Erfurt in Germany and an MSc in economics and finance from International Islamic University, Islamabad. Professionally he is a junior associate of the Institute of Bankers, Pakistan. His opinion articles on energy and economic policy are published in Pakistan’s leading English language daily, Dawn.
